Who can do thisOwners, admins and recruiters
In a Live AI interview, Nova, Infyva's AI interviewer, holds a real-time two-way voice conversation with the candidate and asks follow-up questions. It is booked for a set time, like a call with a person.
Live AI interviews are on every paid plan. They use credits from the same balance as AI interviews: 0.5 credit per minute of conversation. See Minutes and billing.
Don't see the Live AI option?
If Live AI interview does not appear when you send an invite or in a job's settings, Live AI is not switched on for your workspace yet. Email support@infyva.ai and we will turn it on.
Choose structured or conversational
Nova runs in one of two styles. You pick the style for each invite, and you can set a default on the job.
| Style | What Nova does |
|---|---|
| Structured | Nova covers your question bank in order, with follow-ups. |
| Conversational | Nova talks it through freely, focused on the role's required skills. |
To set the default for a job:
- Open the job, open the More job actions menu and click Job settings.
- Under Interview defaults, set Interview type to Live AI interview.
- Choose a Live AI style: Structured or Conversational.
- Click Save settings.
When the job's interview type is Live AI interview, booking links, bulk invites, automatic invites and the API all send Live AI interviews for that job.
To choose per invite, open the invite dialog for a candidate, pick Live AI interview under Interview type, then pick Structured or Conversational. See Send interview invites.
Set the interview length
- In Job settings, under Interview defaults, find Interview length (total, minutes).
- Choose a length from 20 to 60 minutes, in 5-minute steps, then click Save settings.
Candidates see this length everywhere, from the invite to the interview screen. The length is the same on every plan.
If you approve an extra-time accommodation, the session stretches by 1.5 or 2 times. See Accommodations.
When the candidate can join
A Live AI interview has a start time. The candidate can join up to 15 minutes before it.
If they open the link earlier, they see when the interview opens. They can keep the page open and it opens on its own, or come back from the invite link. Nothing is recorded before they start.
Before the call starts, the candidate reads and accepts a notice, then runs a short device check. No camera, microphone or call connection starts before they accept. See What candidates need.
How Nova paces the interview
Nova keeps track of time and closes the conversation on schedule:
- Nova starts wrapping up 7 minutes before the end.
- Nova closes 2 minutes before the end.
The candidate sees About {n} minutes left and then Wrapping up, about a minute left. When time is up, Nova gets a short grace to finish her sign-off: 5% of the length, between 20 and 90 seconds.
Watch an interview live
You can watch a Live AI interview while it happens. You join hidden and listen-only: the candidate and Nova can't see or hear you, and you can't interrupt. There are no scores during the call.
- Open the candidate on the job. While the call is running, the drawer shows Live AI interview in progress.
- Click Watch live. You can also click Watch live next to the interview on Interviews or Today.
- Click Start watching.
- Type in Your notes if you want. Only your team sees these.
- Click Stop watching when you are done.
Watching is available only when the candidate accepted the current Live AI notice, which tells them the hiring team may watch.
Get the report
The report is made after the call ends. It usually appears within a minute or two. Open it from the candidate, or from Interviews.
The Live AI report has a recording, a transcript you can click to jump to any point, the scorecard and the interview checks. See Read a report.
