Require SSO on hiring-manager links

Available onEnterprise
Who can do thisWorkspace owners

By default, anyone who holds a hiring-manager link can open it. If you use single sign-on, you can require the hiring manager to sign in through your identity provider first, as the person the link was sent to.

Before you start

  • Single sign-on must be connected and turned on, with a verified domain. See Single sign-on.
  • Someone must have signed in with SSO successfully at least once. Until then the switch is off with the reason Turn SSO on and sign in with it once first.
  • Only workspace owners can change this setting.

Turn it on

  1. In the sidebar, click Settings, then Single sign-on.
  2. Turn on Require SSO on hiring-manager links.

It is saved straight away.

What changes for hiring managers

When a hiring manager opens a review link, shortlist or view-only link:

  1. They are asked to sign in through your identity provider.
  2. They must sign in with SSO, not a password, as the same email address the link was sent to.
  3. After they sign in, the review opens and they can record a decision.

Signing in this way adds them to your workspace with the role set in New teammates join as, like other SSO users. That role is Recruiter or Viewer.

Links to outside addresses stop working

Links sent to email addresses outside your verified domains stop working while this is on.

Turn it off

  1. Open Settings > Single sign-on.
  2. Turn off Require SSO on hiring-manager links.

Links work again without sign-in, until they expire.
