Slack and Microsoft Teams

Available onEvery plan
Who can do thisOwners and admins install the Slack app. Each recruiter links their own Slack account. Anyone who edits a job can add channel webhooks.

Infyva works with Slack and Microsoft Teams in two separate ways:

There is no Microsoft Teams app. Teams works through channel posts only.

The /infyva Slack app

Coming soon on some workspaces

If the Slack card on Settings > Integrations shows Coming soon, the Slack app is not switched on for your workspace yet. Channel posts still work.

Add Infyva to Slack (owner or admin)

  1. In the sidebar, click Settings, then Slack. The page is called Infyva in Slack.
  2. Under Slack workspace, click Add to Slack.
  3. In Slack, approve the app for your Slack workspace.

The page then shows Connected to and your Slack workspace name. One Slack workspace connects to one Infyva workspace. To reinstall or remove it later, use Reinstall or Disconnect workspace.

Slash commands run as you, so each recruiter links their own account once.

  1. Open Settings > Slack.
  2. Under Your Slack account, click Connect with Slack and sign in with Slack.

Or type /infyva link in Slack and open the link it sends you. The page asks Link this Slack account? and shows the Slack user, email and workspace. Click Link this Slack account. This only works when the Slack account's email matches your Infyva email; otherwise use Connect with Slack.

To unlink, click Disconnect my account.

Post to a Slack or Teams channel for a hiring manager

When a hiring manager has candidates to review, Infyva can post a candidate summary with Advance, Reject, Send back and View report links to a channel. You set this per hiring manager on a job.

Infyva posts when:

  • a recruiter sends a candidate to the hiring manager, or
  • the hiring manager's When to notify is Important only (recommended), and a report scores at or above their Auto-flag threshold with a positive recommendation.

Get a Slack incoming webhook URL

  1. In Slack, create an incoming webhook for the channel: in your Slack app's settings, open Incoming Webhooks and click Add to Workspace.
  2. Pick the channel and copy the webhook URL. It starts with https://hooks.slack.com/.

Get a Teams webhook URL

  1. In Microsoft Teams, add a workflow to the channel using the template Post to a channel when a webhook request is received.
  2. Copy the URL the workflow gives you.

Older Office 365 connector URLs on webhook.office.com also work.

Add the URL to a hiring manager

  1. Open the job and edit it, or start a new job.
  2. Under Hiring managers, find the hiring manager.
  3. Paste the URL into Slack incoming webhook (optional) or Teams webhook (optional). You can fill in both.
  4. Save the job.

Infyva accepts only these hosts, so candidate data can't be sent anywhere else:

FieldAllowed hosts
Slack incoming webhookhooks.slack.com
Teams webhookhttps:// addresses ending in .webhook.office.com, .outlook.office.com, .webhook.office365.com, .logic.azure.com or .environment.api.powerplatform.com

If the URL is not on an allowed host, the job won't save and you see a message telling you which URL to use. A Slack URL in the Teams field, or the other way round, is refused.
