What to expect in your interview

A company has invited you to an interview that runs on Infyva. This guide explains what happens, so nothing comes as a surprise. You don't need an account. Everything starts from the link in your invitation email.

The kinds of interview

Your invitation says which one you have.

  • AI interview. You hear each question and record your answer, at a time that suits you before your link expires. There is no live conversation.
  • Live AI interview. A real-time conversation with Nova, an AI interviewer, at a booked time. See Live AI interviews.
  • Vibe coding round. A coding task in your browser, sometimes with an AI assistant. See Coding rounds.

What happens in an AI interview

  1. You open your link. If the company lets you choose a language, you pick one first.
  2. You read the notice. It explains what is recorded, how your answers are scored, what is monitored and how long your data is kept. Your camera and microphone stay off until you agree.
  3. You check your device. A few quick checks of your camera, microphone, window size and connection. Nothing is recorded during them.
  4. You can try a practice question. It isn't saved or scored. See Practise before you start.
  5. You answer the questions. Each question is shown on screen and read aloud. When it finishes, you can start recording. Your answer timer starts when you do.
  6. You finish. The hiring company reviews your interview and gets in touch.

A person at the hiring company makes the hiring decision. AI scores what you say about the job's skills. It does not score your appearance, voice tone, accent or emotions.

A few things worth knowing

  • You record each answer once, as in a real interview. When you stop recording, your answer is sent.
  • If we couldn't hear anything, you can record that answer again while its time lasts.
  • If you need a break, close the tab and open your link again later. The interview's time keeps running while you are away.
  • Keep the interview window in front and full size. Leaving it, making it much smaller, or pasting text into an answer counts as a warning, and the third warning ends the interview.
