Questions candidates ask

Do I need an account?

No. Everything starts from the link in your invitation email. You don't need to sign up or install anything.

Who am I talking to?

In an AI interview, you hear recorded questions and record your answers. There is no live conversation. In a Live AI interview, you talk in real time with Nova, an AI interviewer. Either way, a person at the hiring company makes the hiring decision.

Can I re-record an answer?

No. As in a real interview, you record each answer once, and stopping the recording sends it. The one exception: if we couldn't hear anything at all, you can record that answer again while its time lasts. The practice question lets you try the format first.

Can I take the interview again?

The interview is one attempt per invitation. If something went wrong, such as a technical problem, reply to your invitation email or use Request a human review at the end.

Is there time to think before I answer?

Yes. Recording opens when the question finishes playing, and your answer timer only starts when you start recording. You can take a moment to think first, but the whole interview has a time limit, so don't wait too long. The question stays on screen, and you can click Replay question to hear it again. In the last 30 seconds of an answer you see a reminder.

Can I see a transcript of my answers?

No. In an AI interview, a transcript isn't shown to you during or after the interview. The hiring team sees your answers with your results.

Do I have to use my camera?

The camera check is part of the interview. In an AI interview, it only counts, inside your browser, whether one person is in view, and no video is sent or stored for it. In a Live AI interview, the call is recorded on video, and the camera checks look at still frames on our servers and keep only the results. If you can't use a camera, ask for an accommodation before you start, and the hiring company can arrange an interview without one.

Does the AI judge how I look or sound?

No. AI scores what you say against the job's skills. It does not score your appearance, voice tone, accent, fluency or emotions.

Can I take the interview in another language?

The interview runs in the language the hiring company chose. Some companies let you pick from a few languages before you start. If so, you see the choice when you open your link.

What counts as a warning?

Leaving the interview tab, putting another window in front, making the window much smaller than your screen, or pasting text into an answer. You're told each time, and the third warning ends the interview. The answers you gave before that are kept. A lost connection is never a warning in a Live AI interview.

Can I take a break?

Close the tab and open your link again when you're ready, while it is still valid. The interview's time keeps running while you're away. Don't click Leave interview, because that ends it for good.

What if my connection drops?

Keep the page open. Your answers are saved on your device and sent when you're back. See I lost connection.

My link says it has expired. What now?

Ask the recruiter to send you a new one. Reply to your invitation email to reach them.

I need a different time.

For a booked interview, reply to your invitation email and the hiring team can move it. For an AI interview without a set time, you can start whenever suits you before your deadline.

I need more time or a different format.

Ask for an accommodation from the notice screen before you start. Your interview waits while the hiring team looks at your request.

Can I use my phone?

For an AI interview, a phone works if its browser can use the microphone and camera. A laptop or desktop is easier. For a coding round, use a laptop or desktop.

How long is my data kept?

Recordings of your answers are deleted after 90 days. Transcripts and reports are kept for 2 years. See Your privacy for the full list.

How do I ask for my data to be deleted?

Use the privacy request form, or email privacy@infyva.ai.

When will I hear back?

The hiring company reviews your interview and gets in touch about next steps. Infyva doesn't make the decision or set the timing.
