Practise before you start
Before an AI interview, you can try one practice question. It works like the real questions: you hear the question, then record your answer. The practice answer is not saved, not sent to anyone and not scored.
Try the practice question
After your device checks, you see Try one practice question first.
- Click Play the question. The question is: "In two or three sentences, tell us how your day is going so far."
- Click Record a practice answer and speak. You have up to 30 seconds. Click Stop when you're done.
- Listen back. Only you can hear it.
- Click Try again as many times as you like.
- When you feel ready, click Start the interview.
The interview clock starts only when you choose Start the interview. Take the time you need.
If your interview records answers on video, the practice screen reminds you of that.
Skip it if you like
Practice is optional. Click Skip practice and start to go straight to the first question.
If your microphone doesn't work for practice, you see a message and can still start the interview. It's a good moment to check your microphone first, though. See Check your device.
Things to know
- The practice question shows once each time you open your link in a new browser tab. If you reload the same tab, it doesn't show again.
- In the real interview, you record each answer once. Stopping the recording sends it. That's why the practice is worth a try.
- There is no practice question before a Live AI interview. Nova greets you first, and you can say hi back. See Live AI interviews.
