I lost connection

Connections drop sometimes. Here is what happens to your work and what to do.

In an AI interview

Your connection dropped

Keep the page open. Your answers are saved on your device, and we keep trying to send them. You might see "Connection lost. Saving answers locally…" or "Saving your answer". Nothing you recorded is lost.

If the interview ends while you are offline, it finishes by itself as soon as your connection is back.

The page reloaded or closed

Open your link again. You pick up at the same question.

  • If your answer was saved before the reload, that recording is your answer, so there is nothing to record again.
  • The time for each question and for the whole interview keeps counting while you are away, so come back as soon as you can.

You need a break

Close the tab, then open your link again when you're ready, while it is still valid. Don't click Leave interview for a break: leaving ends the interview for good.

Your microphone stopped

If your microphone stops partway through an answer, we keep what you recorded so far as your answer. Check your microphone before the next question.

If we couldn't hear anything at all, you see "We couldn't hear you. Please record your answer again." You can record again while that question's time lasts.

The interview opened on another device

Your interview can run in one place at a time. If it's open in another tab or device, you see Continue here?. If you continue, the other one stops and you pick up at the same question. Your answers so far are saved.

In a Live AI interview

If your connection drops, you see "Reconnecting…". Don't refresh. We hold the call open for about a minute so you can get back.

If you can't reconnect in that time, the session ends. A dropped connection is never a warning. The hiring team sees what you covered and that the call ended early. An ended interview can't be joined again from the same link, so reply to your invitation email if you'd like to ask for a new one.

If the problem was on our side, you see that it won't be counted against you and won't be scored. The hiring team is told and can send you a new invite.

In a coding round

Keep working if you can. Your edits stay on your device until they reach us, and the status at the top shows whether your work is saved.

If you're offline when time runs out, keep the tab open. Work saved before the deadline is what gets reviewed, and we submit as soon as the connection is back. If some edits didn't reach us, the final screen names the files and offers Download these edits, so you can send them to your recruiter. That isn't your fault, and you can explain it to them.

Still having trouble?

Reply to your invitation email to reach the hiring team. Tell them what happened. They can see your interview and send you a new link if needed.
